The man to the left is Mr. Charles Alderton. This man created Dr Pepper way back in 1885. Crazy to think that we are still drinking it today isn't it? I think it's pretty interesting that in our determined 2017 age of hyping "purified bottle water" and a drive to eliminate soft drinks from the daily diet, that, back in the late 1800's, soft drink pioneers like Charles Alderton and the founders of Coke (Dr. John S. Pemberton) and Pepsi (Caleb Davis Bradham) knew that people in that age desired something more then plain water and filled the gap with flavored water based products. It does play hell on our current nutritionists that people have been drinking these drinks for more then 100 years and still die anyway.

Reality is an examination of the era, product, and attitude that it was created in. Think about it! In the late 1800's - no television & or radio yet. Different and new food & drink were the hallmarks of exciting art and experience. To swig a drink like that WAS entertainment to them, a treat, a joy and something to talk about. To have a soft drink in your hand like that....
