Good Seasons Dressing

Good Seasons Dressing starts with the cruet. It's essentially a measuring device for your water, vinegar, oil and the powdered packets that make a great dressing!

Tip: I like to make a double or even a triple concoction of this dressing using the cruet. I make it and pour it in a container for future use. Creating it is easy!

Using the cruet is easy. On the outside of the cruet shaker are marks. Each one has a line that measures vinegar, water and oil that you'll add along with any Good Seasons seasoning packet flavor that you'll buy.

The process goes like this: Vinegar to the "V" line then Water to the "W" line. Add your seasoning packet. Shake like a crazed maniac, then add oil (Olive Oil recommended) to the "O" line, then shake again!

It's easy! With any oil, the dressing stays fresh for four weeks when refrigerated. Olive oil noticeably separates amongst the other ingredients when cold. No problem. Let the dressing set out for about an hour to warm up, shake, and you'll be good to go.


Here's some very interesting combos that I personally haven't explored before. You can make some different flavors for use on chicken, beef, fish, shrimp, pork, flank steak and fish. The applications range from Vinaigrette to Stir-Fry Sauce And Marinades.

Teriyaki: Vinaigrette or stir-fry sauce for chicken, beef and fish - 1/4 cup cider vinegar, 3 tbsp. water, 1/2 cup oil of choice, 1 tbsp. soy sauce and 1 tbsp. of brown sugar.


Dijon: Vinaigrette or marinade for chicken, beef and fish - 1/4 cup white wine vinegar, 3 tbsp. water, 1/2 cup oil of choice, 1 tsp. Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard.


Greek: Vinaigrette or marinade for chicken and shrimp - 1/4 cup red wine vinegar, 3 tbsp. water, 1/4 cup olive oil & 1/4 cup vegetable oil, 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese & 2 tbsp. chopped ripe olives.


Raspberry: Vinaigrette or Marinade for chicken and pork - 1/4 cup cider vinegar, 3 tbsp. water, 1/2 cup oil of choice, 2 tbsp. raspberry preserves.


Lemon Dill:  Vinaigrette or marinade for chicken and fish - 1/4 cup water, 3 tbsp. fresh lemon juice, 1/2 cup oil of choice, 1 tbsp. chopped dill weed.


Cilantro-Lime: Vinaigrette or marinade for chicken, flank steak, fish, shrimp - 1/4 cup water, 3 tbsp. fresh lime juice, 1/2 cup oil of choice  & 1-2 tbsp. chopped cilantro.
