Marzetti Dressing
Marzetti dressing has a history, like most of our foods that we eat. Food Run Fix finds that the brands we love are products of immigrants who brought to the table flavors, textures, character, and a history that the later huge food conglomerates couldn't see, and still can't after all these passing years. Yes, they can produce the recipe in mass quantity, but they can't manufacture the spirit of the human being that created it, thankfully. It all seems so rushed now.
There's a history here. Teresa Marzetti was really a woman entrepreneur in the sense, circa early 1900's when the word wasn't well known. What it meant was hard work with few rewards. Teresa and her husband Joseph came over from Italy and worked with Joseph's father, John in his restaurant. They both eventually died and Teresa carried on. As she ran the restaurant and tried her dressing creations out for people, she found out they liked her concoctions! It all happened in Ohio! The dressing exploded from there and has become a huge cold dressing in the cold case in your grocery store.
