Newmans Own Dressing is a product that's best examined by looking at the man behind the tasty dressing, Paul Newman. A great actor in Broadway & Film, a race car driver, and what Food Run Fix focuses on here, a great Philanthropist.
In 1982, he founded his own dressing creations in his own kitchen! His family and friends loved the dressing so he rolled with it. He never took a dime from the sales of the products and funneled it into charities. All of the after-tax profits and royalties to this day are donated to thousands of charities ($470 million to charities since 1982 (as of June 2016). This from a man who pushed, tried, and achieved because of his persistence and drive, not from good luck. It's a lesson to all of us in a way: we all have something to give. Caring, persistence, & drive.
You don't have to be a celebrated anybody to give anything. Newman was just an ordinary guy who tried. I believe he'd be the first one to high five that.
As far as the product goes, we love the Lite Sun Dried Tomato! The flavor of this dressing is so good! It's hard to explain, but it's like going out to your garden and putting it in a bottle.
Some other products of the Newman company that are out there: salsa, pizza, frozen dinners, popcorn, pasta sauce including Alfredo, cheese sauce, BBQ sauce, lemonade, iced tea, juice: fruit, grape, etc., coffee, cookies, & red and white wine.
