Sloppy Joe Recipes wouldn't be complete without the initial addition of the easy, canned, "open it up and pour over browned ground beef, heat and serve" product called Manwich. The problem is that's it's too easy, a little pricey and you can do better by making it yourself with a lot of products right from the store shelf or from your own pantry. Personally, I like to have a lot of green peppers and yellow onions in there; not mushed but with some snap. Those USDA vegetables, bunched up and added, can create a lot of tasty and dare I say, healthy, Sloppy Joe. All you have to add are some really decent buns, fries and boom...you have a quick meal. So, let's have a look at the big brand, Hunt's Manwich and then roll on into the components that make up great a sloppy joe sauce!

Hunt's Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce 15 Oz

Can You Make Sloppy Joe Recipes?

Yes you can. This is Food Run Fix's hit list of products that you'll need to make your own sloppy joe: lean ground beef, yellow onion, green pepper, garlic powder, yellow mustard, ketchup, brown sugar, salt & black or chili pepper. The base is essentially ketchup.

Here's the basic joe recipe: 1 LB Lean Ground Beef, 1/4 Cup Chopped Yellow Onion, 1/4 Cup Chopped Green Pepper, 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder, 1 Teaspoon Yellow Mustard, 3/4 Cup Ketchup, 3 Teaspoons Brown Sugar, a little salt and a little pepper (to taste.)

Brown your beef and drain. Mix in all of your ingredients except for the bell peppers and onions. Heat it up until it's bubbling, then add your vegetables and cook the mixture on low until your peppers and onions are tender but not mushy!

Add all of these ingredients  accordingly if you double or triple the meat. Then add the buns, fries and an appetite!
