Stubbs BBQ Sauce
Stubbs BBQ Sauce is a great product, but the interesting story is the man who made it, as all stories behind amazing products are! In a nutshell, the BBQ sauce was created by a American vet that served in the Korean conflict. This man was a mess cook there and had a talent for feeding 1000's of hungry soldiers. He was good at it, and well, they say follow your talents and success will follow you.
Mr. Stubbs seen that come true. He opened his first BBQ restaurant in 1968 in Lubbock, Texas. You'll see a picture of that original place to the right.
This big man was born in Navasota, Texas in 1931. He and his family picked cotton and I'm sure they were dirt poor back in the day. It seems that great entrepreneurs often come from hard beginnings. He opened a series of BBQ restaurants over the years and was involved with the country music and blues scene down there, feeding many up and coming stars! He passed away in 1995 at what I consider a young age. He seemed like a very charismatic gentleman!
